The view from the Penthouse!  You can spy a couple trees on the bank across the river in pink.  Spring is here!

The host for the evening, cutting one of three (three!!!) chicken pot pies.  Good gracious.

Everyone should have fancy decanters.  The end.

Hex nut "brass rat" bracelets

For Campus Preview Weekend, I was in charge of coming up with a craft for the visiting students, and I found a cool craft where you make hex nut bracelets or necklaces.  They're a nice nod to MIT's brass rat, and pretty straightforward to make.

(tutorial and photo above from HonestlyWTF; brass hex nuts were bought in bulk here)

And believe if or not, there were so many people there that we almost ran out of supplies!  It's interesting holding dorm events, because even if you've been doing it for six years, you have no idea what events will be popular and which won't.

So many people!

Boston Eats: Price Fix at TW Food

IMG_0629
A lovely pre-concert meal at a tiny spot just north of Harvard was just what the doctor ordered.  And in case you wondered, of course I got the cannelloni, and yes, it was delicious.

So was the bread!  My heavens.

Our dog Hillary was diagnosed with lymphoma a couple weeks after I got back to Boston, so without knowing it, this was my time to say goodbye to her.  Hillary was our chill older dog ---she's the one with the stripe up her nose in the above photo.  She loved couches and talking with a toy in her mouth.  But she and Ayden shared a love of ice cubes and rice krispie treats, even if they were polar opposites in the cuddling department.  Ayden will flop on top of you no matter where you're sitting, but Hillary just could never get comfortable!  She adored Jacob and my dad, who hated the name Hillary and called her Mabel (his mother's name).  She loved being pet and her nightly ice cream treats, and got over her frustration of sharing her family with the unruly alien-faced Ayden when she joined our family.  She will certainly be missed.
