A Walk through London: Waterloo, the Tate Modern, St. Paul's Cathedral, and the Barbican

After our lovely afternoon sticky toffee pudding, Sara and I took the tube to Waterloo and walked to the Tate Modern Art Museum. 

The Tube trains are smaller and a bit space-age-in-the-1970s. 

The photographer becomes the art.

Our tour guide for the second half of our walk...he really likes sheep.  Or something.

He also knows the best "secret" views of St. Paul's Cathedral.

The Barbican...eerily reminiscent of the Guntersville Lodge in Alabama (oh Soviet Brutalist architecture).  Built after the the Blitz during World War II, it's a mix of apartments, gardens, an arts center, and there are remnants of the old London Wall built by the Romans.  (more information here, quite a fascinating story!)
